Welcome to Pack 996 2024-25 Registration Process
Note: If you are an existing scout, you must register before Aug 28, 2024 to hold your seat in the Den. If you are a new scout joining at the invitation of a Den Leader, you should be assigned to that Den pending committee review. All other scouts will be assigned during or after the new parent orientation meeting.
There are three fees/payments that each family is responsible for:
- 1) Pack Registration Fees, which are used to sponsor Pack activities for the year. Early Registration is $250 until Aug 28th, 2024; After that Registration increases to $275 and is subject to availability in dens. Families are required to pay this fee FOR EACH CHILD EVERY YEAR
- 2) Scouting BSA registration fees, which are required to log advancement and register your child with the national organization, vary depending on BSA pricing. For 2024-25, the fees start at $85, but may be higher due to local council/other fees. This fee is only paid ONCE per scout… Pack 996 pays this fee for all returning scouts going forward. For new scouts, please see section 3 to the left to register with Scouting BSA.
- 3) NEW for 2024-25, Caring Adult Volunteer Program (VP) deposit: each family is required to provide a deposit as part of their participation in the VP. Deposits are $500 PER FAMILY for RETURNING FAMILIES ONLY; families who are new to the pack this year are exempt from the deposit requirement. Deposits are paid every year by each family and are FULLY REFUNDABLE pending the family’s successful completion of either their hours requirement or from fulfilling their Pack/Den office. Please ask Pack Leaders for more details on the program.
- Pack Registration Form identifies the Scout and helps us communicate with the Scout families. Parents will identify preferred volunteer opportunities here.
- The medical form is composed of part A & B, to be submitted to Sankar Reddy during the next pack meeting.
IMPORTANT for parents of new scouts:
- Please make sure you finish step 3 on the left!
- Depending on the existing Dens available in the pack, you might be asked to form a new Den with other families and elect a new Den Leader. While the Den Leader does have additional responsibilities, ALL families are expected to participate and contribute to the scouting experience.
