FAQs

How do I reach the campsite?

  • The location is Camp Tamarancho, Marin Council, Scouts BSA, Iron Springs Fire Rd, Fairfax, CA 94930

  • While your GPS can lead you to the camp, you will not have cell service after entering camp if you have AT&T.  Verizon and Sprint have better coverage on the campgrounds.

  • Google maps will send you on the correct route up Iron Springs Road.
**Note: DO NOT use Apple maps as it will send you the wrong way up Monte Vista which is a private gated road that will not get you to Tamarancho. Look for this road sign to ensure you can get to the campsite:

  • Tamarancho is a popular mountain biking path so drive slowly and please take care upon entering Iron Springs Road into Camp Tamarancho.  There are some blind turns that you should be aware of, especially given the bike riders going both up and down Iron Springs Road.

  • The road into the camp is one lane and can be very narrow and not maintained in some areas so please bring a bigger car, carpool if possible, plan to make one trip into the campground on-time, and don’t leave until Sunday late morning to avoid two-way traffic.

  • After entering the camp, you will see a small parking lot on the left with tables and benches. You should unload there and then park your car further up in the bigger parking lot. Please park your car with the front facing out to ensure a quick and safe exit in the case of emergency.

Where can I find more information about the campground?

What is the money for?

  • The money collected is used as a deposit for the camping event.

What’s the refund policy?

  • If you purchase a ticket, but do not attend, you will not receive a refund.
