Cub Scouts have different uniforms depending on what rank they are in. At Pack 996, we ask that all scouts wear their Class A uniforms to Pack & Den meetings unless otherwise stated. We would LOVE if scouts come to the first pack meeting with their uniforms, but if you can’t get it by then, DON’T STRESS.

This is a great page which explains what each scout should have as part of their uniform with a few clarifications:

Clarifications:

• Scouts do no need scout pants or shorts (unless you want to buy them)
• Lion Scouts (TK & KG) only need to get the T-shirt and hat (no button down shirt, neckerchief or slide), but you are welcome to buy the full Class A uniform if you like.

All scout ranks up to and including 3rd grade (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, & Bear) wear blue uniforms. 4th & 5th graders (Webelos I & II) wear brown uniforms which they can continue using in Scouts BSA if they continue with scouting in 6th grade

For Scouts in 1st grade and beyond, they will have various patches, including Council, Pack number, and rank. Find out more about patch placement here:

• McCaulou’s Department Store in Danville: (they have a Scout Supplies desk)

McCaulou’s typically has everything you will need, so try there first since it’s closer to home.

What to buy:

• Class A shirt (button down). Blue for 1st-3rd grade. Brown for 4th-5th grade. TK/KG only needs a t-shirt
• Golden Gate Area Council Patch (This is already on shirts if you buy from the Scout Shop)
• Pack Numbers (996)
• Den Number (your den assignments will be announced soon)
• Hat, Neckerchief, and slide for your rank
  • TK/KG: Lion (Neckerchief and slide are only needed if you choose to buy the button down shirt)
  • 1st: Tiger
  • 2nd: Wolf
  • 3rd: Bear
  • 4th/5th: Webelos
• Scout Handbook for your rank
• OPTIONAL, but recommended:
  • Belt. Scouts will be awarded belt loops for adventures that they complete and the scout belt fits them perfectly
  • Badge Magic stickers so you don’t need to sew patches. 1 sheet is more than enough per scout:

Pack 996 also had a Class B uniform (a custom t-shirt). We will provide the ordering link for that soon. It’s the same shirt as last year.

Den 8 won for the fastest racer. Den 20 won for the coolest design!

We start the afternoon with our Arrow of Light Ceremony where our Webelos II scouts advance to the highest rank in Cub Scouts, Arrow of Light. This is basically their graduation from Cub Scouting. We had 22 scouts advance to Arrow of Light this year.

We follow that up our bridging ceremony where our Arrow of Light scouts are welcomed by troops from Scouts BSA to continue on their scouting journeys. This year we had 19 scouts bridge to 4 different packs in the area.

Congratulations to all of our scouts who have achieved these great milestones in their scouting careers!

Finally, we end the night with our Blue & Gold Banquet to celebrate the anniversary of scouting in America which began on February 8, 1910. This year, our scouts voted for a Roblox themed banquet and each den brought a centerpiece for their table to show off to the rest of the pack
